My motto is one that I adapted from my high school, which is learn by doing. Most students aren't auditory learners, so if I simply spout off a bunch of facts or a mathematical process, then chances are they won't learn anything. After laying the foundation first, the best method of learning is for the student to actually do it themselves. This method of learning by doing has been effective and makes both teaching and learning fun and enjoyable. I graduated from CSU Fresno with a BA in Chemistry and a BS in Biology. Since then, I have been a substitute teacher for two months for elementary school grades k-8. For the las year I have been a substitute teacher for the Tulare Joint Union High School District. I first discovered my love for teaching in high school. I excelled in many areas and helped my fellow students learn. As I furthered my education, my passion for teaching grew and my style changed. I try to teach to the student and not at them. I teach study habits that will help them learn more effectively on their own. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Chemisty with a minor in statistics. As an undergraduate, I tutored middle-schoolers in science and math as a volunteer at a local school. I was recently a substitute teacher, teaching all ages and in areas such as the biological sciences, algebra, calculus and psychology. I currently tutor a college student in mathemtics.

Through my education at UCLA, I developed a solid foundation in math and science, while completing my BS in Bioengineering. Additionally, I have well developed communication and grammar skills for an engineer due to several extracurricular activities, which required me to write time-sensitive documentation and reports. My tutoring experience comes from 2 years of volunteer work I did at Marina Del Rey Middle School. My dominant teaching style is connecting with students on a personal level.
