I am a Certified Teacher in the State of Washington and currently work as a Substitute Teacher for the Fife Public Schools. I have been a Substitute Teacher for local school districts and chose to work part time since I was caring for my elderly father who passed away in 2012. A Little Bit About Me...

During my studies at USU I worked at Adams Elementary both as a Teachers Aid as well as a Mentor during the After School Program. I worked one-on-one as well as in groups of students grade k-5. This position was one of the most rewarding and enjoyable that I've had and would love to continue. I have also taught American Sign Language at the University in their ASL Labs for a year.
Everyone has the ability to learn but not everyone has the same ability. Most people are visual or tactile learners whereas most teachers, in my experience, use verbal/aural instruction methods. I love helping and teaching children. I have given riding lessons to all ages of children for years, realizing there is no better feeling than helping children accomplish their goals. A Little Bit About Me...

As a teacher's-assistant for children ages 4-6 I have been able to gain experience working with them one on one and in whole groups for almost two years. This has taught me the value of identifying with the child's unique learning needs in order to encourage and drive their academic success. I believe children need patience from their tutors, steady encouragement, and to be in a positive environment that allows them to feel comfortable, focused, and ready to learn without distraction.
