During my undergraduate career, I student taught ninth grade English at Glasgow High School. I taught five 9CP courses and 1 SAT Prep course. So I have experience working with students and I am very skilled in teaching English Language Arts concepts.

I believe in talking through problems using visual ideas and simplified concepts. I prefer teaching with graphics and concepts, and then relating them to formulas and equations. While I expect hard work from my students, I also have the patience to help them understand at their own pace.
I am a currently a working civil engineer specializing in bridge design (steel and concrete structures). I received scores of 760 in Math on both the SAT I and II, and a score of 800 in Math on the GRE's. I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, their understanding is broadened and 99% of the time embedded in the longterm memory. That to me is not only developing the ability to draw on a built up knowledge base, but also broadens ones ability to convey what has been learned.

Since acheiving my first accounting designation from the UK in 1991 I have taught accounting and Business Law to adults until 1998 when I migrated to the US. While here I was succesful in passing my CPA exams and I am now a member in good stabding with AICPA and Delaware Society of CPAs. I have been tutoring my relatives kids in math and science for over 4 years. One child is now in High School while 2 are in Middle School. Having a great thirst for knowledge, I was torn between Accounting or Engineering to major in, in college. Having a passion for numbers and electrical design, I chose electrical engineering, where I received a BS Degree in 1995. Everyone does not learn at the same pace or through the same exposure to material.
