I believe that a student who lacks the basic fundamental skills in reading and mathematics will struggle to stay focused in class and continually be disruptive and ultimately stop attending school. My teaching style is consistently accommodating especially to these types of students. In February 1996 I started tutoring remedial math and accounting in the TCC, Virginia Beach Campus, tutor lab. As I took more courses, the subjects I tutored grew. When I transferred to Virginia Wesleyan I joined their tutor lab an continued tutoring math and business classes. Since I graduated in 2000 with my business degree I have taken several math classes at TCC, the highest being Calculus IV. In that time, I have tutored family, friends, fellow students (as I pursued higher math classes) and coworkers, usually working for the fun of math and to help out friends.
