Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! Creative Writing is my extreme passion. I've taken numerous creative writing classes in college and I'm currently working on writing my own fiction novel in my spare time.

I am a recent graduate of Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania (May 2011). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. I also have a minor in photography. During my time at Mercyhurst College, I worked as a writing tutor in the school’s writing center. When students entered the center, it was my job to immediately make them feel comfortable by greeting them with a friendly smile and asking what I could help them with. After this, the students’ explained their assignment and expressed any concerns they had or anything their professors wanted them to work on. A Little Bit About Me...

During my collegiate years, I learned that experience was just as important as obtaining my degree. Therefore, I worked during my college years in a school offering mentoring for young children. For the last two years, I have worked for a young adult mentoring program called Project Respect. I work as a classroom facilitator. My BA in Communications offers me experience in writing research papers, essays, preparing and delivering speeches, and developing creative case studies. Although, I have never been in charge of my own class room I consider my teaching style energetic. I love working with students of all ages and find that teaching methods and styles tend to adapt to those individual students. I think it is important to be encouraging and patient with all students. I believe in a hand on approach where students learn from experiences and doing rather than being lectured. I have always been interested and active in the education field. I enjoy working individually with students, more so than in a classroom setting. I received a Master's degree in Creative Writing and a Bachelor's in English for Secondary Education, with minors in French and Creative Writing. I have been teaching Composition at a Community College and have tutored students for many years, whether in English, basic French or even math (up to and including Algebra).
I enjoy working one on one with students because it is allows me to give more in depth and detailed instruction to the student based on his or her learning style.
