My comments on tutoring Algebra I : I am taking technical math in college. Algebra knowledge is required for technical math.

I prefer teaching my students to speak first. Once the student is fluent in Spanish, reading, and writing is taught. I emphasize conversational speaking a lot. That is what will get the student to lose the fear, and become fluent. Speaking a language is all about confidence. I consider myself a good leader. I was class president for three years in high school. I was the captain of the football team, and I have always taught by example. Example is the best teacher and the best motivator. I consider this are some skills I stand out at: · Comprehensive knowledge of educational issues · Experienced in improving relevant pedagogy and practice · Strong leadership abilities and organizational skills · Superb flair in communication and team building · Ability to initiate, develop, and implement curriculum strategies · Ability to monitor students within school or tutoring ar ... read more

Dedication is paramount to academic and personal success!

Passionate, interactive, and Efficient. My philosophy for teaching is simple. There are two kinds of students: Those who are willing to word hard and make sacrafices to be an excellent student and those who simply won't be good students. I offer no shortcuts or cheat sheets. Dedication is paramount to not only academic success, but personal success as well. I accept any and all challenges.

A Little Bit About Me...

My experience includes paid help to friends throughout high school, mostly in physics, math, and Spanish. I often would work for 2-3 hours with someone once a week. It was always casual and mostly during my junior and senior years of high school. I am in college now and have not had a chance to get involved with tutoring here.

My teaching style revolves around how the child learns. I adapt my lesson's around how the child will be able to best learn the material. I want to see them grow and develop as much as they can.
I am now a teacher at a private school in Monona. I help aid a Preschool classroom and have my own classroom in the afternoon for students age four. I also run an after school program once the school day is done with and that incorporates 4 year-olds to seventh graders. I help students out with homework during that time. Before I started my teaching job, I was substituting in Madison and Verona Area School Districts. While in college I had many practicum's in different classrooms and would help students out inside and outside of the classroom. For the past two years, I nannied for a little boy and would help him out with his reading and any other homework he would have for the night.

My comments on tutoring Algebra I : I'm not a math person - but then again, neither are you, right? I can teach you how to work through algebra as one non-math person to another.

Fun. We'll talk about things in a way you understand, pursue strategies that are both silly and make sense, and use metaphors that are so ridiculous that you'll never forget them. I get very excited about things. It's very exciting. We'll have fun.
Tutored my way through high school, college, and have spent the years after graduation part-time tutoring high school students to get into whichever schools they set their sights on. My biggest pet peeve was boring classes with strategies that didn't make sense to me, and I'm here to fix that by offering a personalized style with in-depth analysis of your strengths, areas for improvement, and desired learning styles!

Algebra I is one of my top subjects! I have tutored algebra in the past and feel comfortable in my abilities to describe concepts to those who are having trouble wrapping their heads around the "algebraic mindset"

Working with children always has been and always will be a passion of mine. Prior to deciding that I would focus my attention on becoming a child psychologist I contemplated following in the footsteps of a number of my most influential role models: teachers. In my eyes, there's both a monumental responsibility and a fulfillment beyond words when you have been entrusted to educate our youth. While some may choose to see teaching as an insurmountable challenge, I see it as an unparalleled opportunity to do my part to better the lives of others, and an opportunity that I have taken advantage of countless times. In addition to tutoring algebra in my past, I have had the pleasure of serving as a summer camp counselor, an after-school activity facilitator, a pediatrics unit volunteer and a number of other child-based positions, many of which have taken place in the Madison area. Multi-subject tutoring: maths, Chinese, English

I've had previous experience tutoring, mainly working with kids aged from 7 to 15. I used to be a part-time teacher in an English as a second language institute for a year. Conducting engaging and informative lessons is my passion, and I love to see people improve after they take my class. I have a solid background in maths, and I can also tutor elementary physics and chemistry. I will be able to conduct lessons in areas such as science, English, and since I'm a Chinese student, I can also teach Chinese(mandarin). Teaching Chinese and maths is my strength. I have been learning the piano for 8 years, so I can do any elementary piano-related tutoring as well.
patient and creative, interesting and engaging
