A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had a passion for helping others learn. In high school I tutored students from different schools in math. After graduating with two bachelor's degrees from the University of Minnesota I began working full time as a financial analyst for Target Corporation. At the same time, I started teaching part time at a learning center. In the past three years I have been able to help students of all ages from first grade through college. I worked in the Finance Industry (UBS Financial, and Wachovia securities). Also I have taught as an adjunct faculty in University of Saint Thomas, Metro State University, and various community colleges. I taught various economics, and finance classes. Also I taught developmental math to community college students. I have also taught my two children. My older son is graduating with degrees in Mathematics and Economics from University of Minnesota. My younger child is an eighth grader. He is doing pre-calculus in eighth grade. Pre-calculus is studied in eleventh or twelfth grade. I work with my younger son very closely. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching experience began during high school when I would help out at my church's Sunday School providing remedial services like handing out papers. Since then I have earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics with ambitions to earn a PhD. During my undergraduate experience I tutored beginning accounting students for a couple hours a week aside from the usual work of helping classmates. Upon graduation I began looking other ways to continue teaching. About 10 months ago I began volunteering at a community center. There I partnered with another gentleman to teach English as a language to immigrants. It was so much that I decided to make this a weekly ritual.
