A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching business areas and math -- the subjects were fascinating to learn and are still a joy to explore with students. My favorite moments are "light bulb moments;" it can be frustrating to work on the same thing for a long time, but when a student looks up and finally "gets it," it doesn't matter how long it took. I enjoy working with students to develop a true foundation of understanding early in the material so we can build on it as we work into the more complex areas. However, I also enjoy working with students who may have missed out on building the foundation and need to take a step back--helping them rebuild their confidence is very rewarding.

I graduated cum laude from Baylor University, in May 2009, with a bachelor's in Professional Writing. My G.P.A. was 3.8 on a 4.0 scale. During my time at Baylor I discovered a love for history, and graduated one class short of a history minor. I worked as an editing transcriptionist at Baylor's Institute for Oral History. A Little Bit About Me...

My style is relaxed and informal, but effective. School already provides enough structure, and with a relaxed mind, information can be processed more easily. 1 hour sessions multiple times a week is the best way for the information to sink in.
I have held informal teaching positions throughout my entire life. I have tutored everything from pre-algebra to Calculus to Piano. I'm currently employed as an after school tutor for middle school students, 6th grade to 8th, and independently tutor on Saturdays.
