I enjoy teaching several subjects to all different age levels. I enjoy taking a difficult subject and finding the way in which it relates to the student. While in college I was a youth soccer referee in which the referee has to explain to the rules and apply them to kids ages 5-11. It is exciting to watch the students understand the message that I am trying to portray. If the first attempt to explain something to a student is unsuccessful, then I will explain it in different ways until the student understands. What has allowed me to progress to a higher level of education is that I understand what is expected in the educational system. I am successful in school because I am familiar with the manner in which subjects are taught. Through my experiences in tutoring and mentoring, I have learned different teaching techniques. I understand that not everyone learns the same way, so I try to explain the material in different manners, show visuals when applicable, and give numerous examples. I believe the best way to learn is peer-to-peer learning. As an auto-didact I have the study skills necessary to regurgitate information as taught by the current institutional models. This is an uncreative and highly unnatural way to learn. There's a reason no major discovery was made in a classroom -- true innovation, discovery and learning is an organic process.
