I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. When tutoring a student, I like to start with giving the student a few problems to see where their competency level lies. From there, I proceed like a teacher in a classroom would. I explain a problem while I am solving it step by step on a piece of paper. This allows the student to learn two separate ways-visually and orally.
