As a teacher I work well with my students, giving them the basic ideas that they need to learn to appreciate mathematics. As a mother of four, I provided them the idea that mathematics is really an enjoyable subject.With much patience and compassion, I was able to impart to them that learning is fun. I give them lots of examples to solve, then I explain to them the step by step computation. My style of teaching is to first get the student to understand the basics that are needed as a foundation. For example, my friend was having trouble completing accounting homework and I soon realized that it was because he had not memorized the basic equations; i.e., "assets - liabilities = owner's equity," and "beginning inventory + purchases - ending inventory = cost of goods sold." Just about impossible to advance without the basics.

I am able to teach children of all ages and also am able to tailor my teaching style to the age I am teaching. Through encouragement and pointing in the correct direction instead of just giving an answer, I believe that the student learns best.
