I'm fairly laid back. I try to get to know the student first and see how they do with their work on their own and of course helping them out when needed. Occasionally, I'll give my own tests to see how well their test taking skills are and how they do under pressure. Once I get an idea of which area is their weak point, I'll prioritize the subjects so that more time is focused on their weak area whether it be reading, math, writing, or even just test taking skills. I also do a lot of fun logic puzzles to get them thinking and also creative writing projects so that they have a way to express themselves. I think it is very important for children to have a chance to break away from the standardized tests and be allowed to think outside the box starting at a young age.

Elementary is one of my top subjects! I have taught elementary school children grades kindergarten through fifth grade for three years overseas and have tutored for four years. I was the head kindergarten teacher, phonics and reading teacher for two years. I oversaw the other kinder teachers as well as conducting events and curriculum for each semester. I have taught phonics, reading, vocabulary, math and social studies.

I am a very outgoing and energetic but patient teacher. I will often push my student beyond what they believe they are capable of. For example, my lowest kindergarten class by the end of the fourth semester was reading second grade level books and worksheets. My second grade level students were reading by the end of the second semester fourth to sixth grade reads.
