After receiving my teaching credential from Biola University, I eagerly accepted a permanent substitute position at Mission Hills Chrisitian School. The following year, I was asked to teach science along with several other subjects in the junior high school. I thoroughly enjoyed this position for three years until the birth of our son. During my years teaching junior high, I had the pleasure of tutoring several students in math, reading, and study skills. I have been blessed with the honor of homeschooling my two boys for the past six years. My older son has dyslexia, and I began tutoring him with the Barton reading and spelling system this year. I have also taught history classes at our local homeschool co-op for both junior high and high school.

I like to build on student's individual strengths, to enhance their self-confidence and empower them to make discoveries on their own. I love to help one-on-one! I have three graduate degrees with one in the field of teaching. I have taught and tutored learners from nursery school up through the college level. Originally, I majored in special education and especially love working with children.
