My educational background is well-rounded, which prepared me to tutor in a variety of subjects. For example, I demonstrated solid grammar and research/writing skills in order to successfully complete my B.S. in Human Resources Management and supplemented this degree with college coursework in Economics, Accounting, and Business Statistics. In addition, since 1998, my tutoring experience has included a variety of areas: Basic mathematics and reading at the elementary level, High school mathematics and English, GED test preparation classes, College-level Algebra, Resume-writing and interview skills seminars, and Continuing Legal Education classes for lawyers.

My approach to teaching is more of a "why" approach. It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students. It allows students not only to understand the ideas taught but to apply them to other areas as well. I also like to use visual aids as well as conversation. I have found that many of us vary widely in learning styles. Some are visual learners, others are audio learners, and still others are a combination. I work well one-on-one but also enjoy small groups. I look forward to working with you or your children to produce results they can be proud of.
