I used to hate math, now I love it.

i am pretty relaxed and informal, but I expect students to do the work assigned. I help, but I don't do the work for them. I use Socratic questioning to get students to understand the material. I stress learning concepts and building on them as opposed to memorizing or guessing enough to pass a test.
I received a BS in Horticulture from Va. Polytechnic Institute and State University. majored in Biology (Botany) for 3 years at Virginia Commonwealth Univ. and College of William and Mary. Recently retook Precalculus, Calculus 1, Calculus 2, and Calculus 3 at Virginia Western Community College. I have a background tutoring and running a tutoring center for STEM subjects at a community college for 3 years. I have been tutoring in some form for 6 years. My comments on tutoring Grammar : Expert at all grammatical concepts. To do good for people and help them with their grammar, you have to do well in grammar. If you are having difficulty with your grammar, I will teach you easy ways to figure out the correct grammar using what you already know. Grammar can be easy.

I can relate best with the student/youth.

I attended Rufus King World IB High school in Milwaukee, Wi, one of the most prestigious inner city high schools in the country. I excelled in IB Geography, Chorus, and Theatre. I was one of those kids who never did any homework, but passed my tests. Everyone came to me for help on projects, homework, ect. I feel that I didn't fully utilize my strengths in school as I could have, so I would love to share that with those who need it now.
