A Little Bit About Me...

I first identify the student's strengths and weaknesses, and try to come up with a way to teach the student in a way that they will understand. I believe patience is very essential to having a successful outcome with the student.
I am well versed in math and finance, as well as writing. As a high school student, I successfully completed AP Calculus I and II, AP Physics, and AP Chemistry. I also took Calculus II for Engineers at Johns Hopkins University, as well as a variety of finance courses at Goizueta Business School. I also have excellent grammatical skills, as I am a former Editor-in-Chief of a law journal. I presently work as a law clerk, and writing for a judge is something I do every day. I'm qualified to be a Spanish tutor because I minored in Spanish at Johns Hopkins, and also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain in 2005.

My teaching belief is that every audience is different. Children do not learn in the same way that adults do, therefore there are two different methodologies to teaching each learning set. My method is to gauge what the learner already knows, how they learn best, what motivates them, listen to their dreams, concerns, and frustrations and go from there. I realize that learning is a very emotional process, but is also very rewarding. I never quite knew the challenges of learning until I became a college student and had to have discipline and confidence to achieve my goals and dreams. Everyone is valuable and learning is precious.
