I graduated with a degree in Physical Science Education, which gives me a strong background in Physical Sciences and in math. I have worked with children and youth of all age levels and nearly every ability. I ran an afterschool program for the Salvation Army, ran a boys home for troubled boys and worked in St. Paul City schools as a substitute teacher and a night teacher at an evening school. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a 2006 honors graduate of Kent State University's Early Childhood Education, earning both an AS and BS and am currently working on a MS in Special Education. I entered the educational field as a career after finding a natural ability to meet the needs of learners with unique challenges through a mentor/tutor program at a local elementary school. Since then I have worked with students from preschool through eighth grades. I have also worked with all levels of learning ability from those with learning disabilities to those who are gifted. I believe that all students can learn. I think that one of the cornerstones of my teaching style is having high expectations for my students. Though each student has different skills and abilities, most can be engaged to use the skills he or she brings to learn if the student knows that his or her teacher believes he or she can learn and if that teacher presents the content in an interesting way. If one word could describe my teaching style it would be the word flexible. Each student is unique and different and needs to be taught in a way appropriate for him or her.
