Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles. Every person learns differently, so I cater my teaching style to each individual learner.
I started tutoring in my teens helping young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders develop English and Math skills as well as speech therapy and public speaking. I love teaching, Math especially. I have a passion for showing kids how important MAth is in everyday life. Only then they would take down that barrier of "I Dont Need Math" most ofthem have set up. I come from a very diverse background and I enjoy talking about my culture and learning about other cultures. I do not believe in spoon-feeding kids work, meaning that you have to make them responsible for doing the work, because only then they would see the true value in it. As an engineer, I enjoy working on design projects with kids and telling them about the many possibilites there are in the engineering field.
