A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children. I am mainly in the Library however, I work with students on a one to one basis. I cater my teaching style to the indivual students (I work with several). I am always someone who finishes what he starts. Since 1995, I always wanted to be an accountant as well as becoming certified CPA. I have 2 years experience in auditing from bankplus, and a year with the Ms Emergency Management Agency. I also have experience as a financial analyst.
During the years of 1998 through 2000, I volunteered to help tutor students in subjects from math and science. My goal in teaching was to teach how to grasp the information and make to where they can put pieces together and solve/answer any questions in their lessons. I teach others by first trying to understand the way that person learns best. If I find that one way does not work for that student, I will try a different approach. I have found that many students have an easier time grasping basic understanding by using real life examples to which they can relate. Once a basic understanding is achieved, further learning can begin. I believe it is important for a student to feel they can be honest about their progress and feel comfortable asking questions. I always encourage students when they are on the right track in order to promote self confidence. When students feel smart they are encouraged to reach greater learning levels.

I served as a tutor and teacher of adult education in Loganville, GA for 1 year. I am currently on the substitute teacher roster for the Vicksburg School District, and I have been so for two years.
I first introduce myself and get to know a little about the student I am tutoring.
