I have a somewhat relaxed teaching style that does not compromise the distinction or respect between student and teacher. This teaching style results in a classroom atmosphere where students feel comfortable responding to my questions and asking for further clarification about complex topics. Many students have told me that my teaching style is refreshing and they feel comfortable in class. With my numerous experiences in education, I think I could be a great asset in helping students become more knowledgeable. I have worked as a Tutor, Assistant Teacher, and did a short placement as an Interim Teacher. I can easily adjust to changing environments that will best suit the student’s potential. The teaching style that brings the best success I've found is centered on two points. First of all, it is based on listening, which means getting the student to talk. Eventually, with guidance, I aim to get them the ability to talk through and solve any problem. The second major technique I like to use is analogies. Even complicated subjects can be simplified into their core components which are easy to understand if taught as an analogy to something more familiar in daily life. Just as the Bible uses parables or employers use phrases from team sports to explain team roles, I find lots of success by using analogies. My specialty is reading, writing and research. I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas, where I studied government, law and economics. I have worked with different levels of mental health and emotional maturity for several years. I have spent much of my spare time working within the community at youth centers, soup kitchens and veteran administration homes. I feel that working with many different types and levels of human functioning has enabled me to be more able to adjust my teaching and assisting styles to better serve my community. Each person learns at an individual pace. I use the Gardner system of multiple intelligences to facilitate individual learning style. I do not believe something is impossible to learn, or unteachable. Patience is a moral and ethic rule with my personal professional style.

My teaching style is informal and friendly. I have numerous years as an AWANA teacher of children at church in addition to one year experience as a professional chemistry teacher. A prior supervisor of my teaching style said "a natural teacher that immediately puts the students at ease". My experience starts as a chemist in the nuclear industry, then proceeding to an environmental professional in the manufacturing industry, and finally as an adjunct professor of law for a distance education university. I have worked primarily in the utility industry, with short periods of employment in the aluminum industry and semiconductor industry.

I really enjoy working with children and adults alike. I enjoy imparting my knowledge. I am patient and laid-back. I have had groups as large as 30 children at once when teaching horse-back riding safety and lessons. As a law school graduate, I have extensive experience essay/paper composition and research. I also have experience with negotiating and public speaking. During the last few years, I have helped students with composition work as well as teaching horse-back riding lessons and safety instructions.
