My comments on tutoring Chemistry : I never made below a "B+" average in this subject, and understand the dynamics, processes, and procedures behind this subject, including the periodic table of elements, as well as balancing chemical equations.

I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.
I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. I believe in building on successes, and offering constructive criticism, where appropriate.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BS in Biology and Genetics from North Carolina State University. I have recently taken a refresher course in Anatomy and Physiology to go back to school for radiology. I have taken college level math courses through Calculus II, I have taken General Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, and multiple courses in Genetics. I have helped tutor in high school for the Chemistry AP exam and helped fellow students in college.
I believe in being hands on and visual, many students have problems in math and science because they are unable to visualize the words written in their books. I am extremly organized so that my time is best spent on the most difficult areas for each individual student.

During my four years at East TN State University (ETSU), I tutored college students in General and Organic Chemistry, and multiple Psychology courses. I also taught for Kaplan Test Prep in small classes and prepared high school students for the SAT and ACT. I graduated in 2004 with a BS in Psychology. I then went to South College to get my teaching certificate. I student taught for 16 weeks under two wonderful mentoring teachers, and started subbing in January 2005. As a high school student, I was very active in extracurricular activities. I participated in the rotary club, volunteering at local soup kitchens. I was also a member of the Newspaper, Quiz Bowl, Robotics Team, soccer and baseball throughout my high school career.
