My comments on tutoring Government : I never made below an "A" average in this subject, and have 10+ years of practical experience in this field, having worked for governments at the local and state level.

I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. In addition, I like to engage those I teach, challenging them to think about what they previously have not considered. I believe in building on successes, and offering constructive criticism, where appropriate.
I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a discussion based teacher. I prefer to engage the students higher level thinking with a questioning approach. I do not think that lecture or rote memorization are proper ways to educate a child. I believe that teachers affect a students learning not just through the subject but also through the real world examples that should be the core of all learning. With my numerous experiences in education, I think I could be a great asset in helping students become more knowledgeable. I have worked as a Tutor, Assistant Teacher, and did a short placement as an Interim Teacher. I can easily adjust to changing environments that will best suit the student’s potential. A Little Bit About Me...

I like working with children of all ages. I believe that children of all ages and cultural backgrounds can learn if given a proper chance. I even managed to teach children in South Korea, when I didn't speak Korean at all and my students had limited English skills. I taught them through games and use of our workbooks and student books. I believe in making learning a fun experience with lots of games and an easy going manner. If the kid is bored or unhappy, it is going to make it much harder for the child to learn. I try to also reach my students at the level where they are at. If a student is at a lower level of understanding, I will start with them there and slowly challenge and build them to a higher level.
