I enjoy seeing children blossom through education and helping them reach their full potential. I like to help children persevere until they have a thorough understanding of the concepts they are struggling with. Hands on learning helps the student to grasp these concepts more easily. My undergraduate degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan was a major in Home Economics Education and a minor in Spanish. I began my educational journey in the Spanish language when I started going on short-term trips with my church.Shortly after, I decided to study the language in a intense submersion course for two-semesters in Colima, Mexico. By being constantly surrounded by the language, I was able to learn and comprehend Spanish in a short amount of time. I returned to my University in Springfield, Missouri and received my BS in Spanish with a minor in sociology. I then decided that I wanted to teach this beautiful and useful language. I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Teaching Spanish K-12 program at Missouri State University and will be certified to teach on a provisional certificate in the fall of 2010.
