I used the Orton-Gillingham method for dyslexia and found that it really seemed to work well to suit the student’s needs. Because I am a Business major, I tend to like to work with only numbers. But my tutoring career began with kids that were below grade level in reading. So I used my business mindset to give my young clients(students) stories that were of interest to them and I made sure that the stories were easy reading and I gradually got the kids to read "at grade level".
