My comments on tutoring Government : Graduated with a 3.57 in Political Science.

Throughout my student career I have been an excellent test taker, especially on standardized tests. I scored a 1480/1600 on my SAT and a 164 on my LSAT. I have been taught in both group settings and individualized settings. Additionally I have also tutored in both group and individual settings. My teaching style strives to be personalized with a lot of emphasis put on developing test taking strategies with trial and error.

Every child can learn, so every child deserves to learn.

I teach in the way of Scaffolding. I give the learner all the assistance they need until they no longer need it any more. I start by giving a lot of cues and help with each step. Then I slowly take the training wheels off and each time, I let them show me more and more what they can do with out the help. I hope to create leaders.
I have been teaching children younger than myself since I started teaching Sunday school classes and became a adolescent influence in my previous youth group. I new all along I was going to be a teacher. I have been tutoring my younger nephews since they are now in grade level courses. I have also had experience in the classroom as observing mentor teachers and assisting them in lesson plan creations. I will be enrolled in methods course this coming fall for my Elementary Education Professional Teaching program.

Through personal and professional experience, I have come to believe that fluency is most quickly achieved through immersion in a language (and instruction in only that language). However, accuracy can be developed and maintained more consistently when a student is able to compare his or her native tongue to the one which he or she is studying - as long as the student has a good understanding of the grammar and other basics of the native language. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style emphasizes the differences between children, especially with regards to learning styles. Different children comprehend and understand in unique ways - while one may understand best from tactile or visual demonstrations, others learn best simply by hearing.
