My comments on tutoring Elementary Math : I have been studying Elementary Education for the past four years. One of my courses was all about teaching Math to my students. For this course I created games for teaching Math, and have been using the games for the students that I tutor ever since. I have found that students love to learn about Math if it is the form of a game.

I have been working with children for the past seven years. Four of those years have included homeschooling pre-school and pre-kindergarten as well as homework help and tutoring the children that I was babysitting. I love tutoring because it allows me to work one-on-one with my students. Tutoring, also, allows me the opportunity to create the ultimate tutoring experience based off of the students learning style and interest. The students that I conducted homework help and tutoring with were within grades 2nd through 6th. I conducted my Student Teaching in a first grade classroom and loved every minute of it.

A tutor has a unique opportunity to quickly learn the teaching styles required for the individual student. This is best accomplished by listening carefully to the student to establish where the roadblocks to learning are occurring. While attending Centenary College, I ascertained the skills necessary to overcome any mathematical problem or situation that may come my way. I also was enrolled in the Mathematics Honor Society where I tutored students for the Math Praxis Exam for my entire senior year.
