Though my degree is in Music Therapy,I enjoy English and Reading as well. My past seven years working for Measurement Incorporated as a Reader/Scorer for 4th, 5th, 6th and 11th grade writing for several states. This has enabled me to gain an understanding of the writing skills at the elementary level. Therefore, I am most interested in tutoring elementary students in Language Arts.

I am a very hands-on instructor, being heavily influenced from the Montessori education I received. I believe that a child has to genuinely want to learn if they are to succeed, and the key is getting them excited about the topic, to make them see how it is relevant to them and their education. A Little Bit About Me...

After having been a stay at home mother for many years I decided to go back to school and get a degree in education. I wanted to be able to teach children and use my knowledge and experience to help further their education and life skills. What more better experience then to start at home by helping my little brother and sister. For the past five years I have tutored my brother and sister in many different subjects. I have done math, reading, science,history. Basically all elementary subjects.I am Bilingual and speak both English, and Spanish fluently.
I try to make the subjects fun for them. For example i bring out cubes, candy, or fruits for math problems so they can visually see the mathamatical problem. If its science I try to make 3D projects so they can better understand, for example the solar system.
