A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in an interactive learning environment where I am constantly asking students for their inputs and working through problems with them. This way, they become confident in their abilities to solve difficult problems and provoke critical thinking.
I am currently a graduate student in petroleum engineering. As an undergrad I worked as a mentor for a freshman in my major, helping him cope with school and advising him of the courses he needs to take. I also provide tutoring when needed. In high school I was part of a program called PEPP where high school students provided tutoring to middle school students. I was also involved in a program developed by my school's Honor Society where we tutor our peers in math and science courses. A Little Bit About Me...

In college, I tutored grammar school, high school and college students in various math and science courses. Subjects included algebra, calculus, chemistry, and physics. In graduate school, I trained graduate, medical and high school students in various lab techniques and concepts. I also played a large role in managing their laboratory projects. It was at this point that I decided I wanted to become a teacher. After graduating, I became a substitute teacher and also co-instructed an online course for my undergraduate college. I graduated from high school as number eleven in rank out of 248. I often assisted other students in both high school and college. Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects.
