I work with students of various backgrounds, aging from pre teen to retirement age, many with learning disabilities, many who are also ahead of their peers. I have a resource room and lesson plans for each group of students seperated by subject. I help them with Math, time management and note taking. I work closely with other administrative staff and allow students to discover their potential. I ask questions, I make math fun!! I draw pictures. The assinments are OUR assignments the students are not alone. Math was hard for me too I GET why they are stuck!!

I have graduated from San Antonio College with Honors (3.85), received an Honors List during 2009 as well. I am a faster learner, and enjoyed the education that I have received, too several business and computer courses while in college. Throughout high school and college, I have tutored peers and younger students in both math and physics several times, occasionally for pay. Last year I was a course assistant for a college freshman-year math course in theoretical math at Harvard University. I am enrolling in a PhD program in pure math at the University of Texas, Austin, where I will have a 16-hour-per week teaching load including three sections of undergraduate calculus. When I was a course assistant, my section scored higher on the quizzes and exams than the other sections. My passion is making mathematics accessible. After high school I was underwhelmed by mathematics. However as I took more math in college, I realized how much I had missed in high school. As I learned more mathematics, I became determined to make it my business to find and implement better methods of educating people on mathematics in a way that does not overwhelm them, but simultaneously makes their learning experience more useful. I studied teacher education as an undergraduate, and attended graduate school at Dartmouth where the program in mathematics has a specific focus on preparing one to teach mathematics.
