A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a teacher for over 16 years. I graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Math. I currently am the Lead teacher at a special purpose school for children with disabilities. I have worked as an independent math tutor several times and have worked in the home or met at libraries. I work in Brewer and am will in to tutor during the week and on week end.

Working with younger children and teens has always been fun for myself. I think it's good to get to know the student on somewhat of a personal level. This allows for you to understand how the student thinks and learns, since every student learns differently. I am a very patient person and I try to find the best possible learning approach.
I recently graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Civil Engineering in December 2009, which has given me a very strong mathematical background. I am a home-schooling mom who has been tutoring mathematics for over ten years. I began tutoring math while still in high school. In college, I facilitated study groups and 1-on-1 tutoring sessions.
