A Little Bit About Me...

As a MacMurray College graduate, I was hard working towards my area of studies and was driven to excel in any subject I was enrolled in. I was a double major and had a minor as well. My majors were History and Criminal Justice with a Psychology minor. I earned the History and Criminal Justice Department Awards at Graduation and I also Graduated with Honors in History scoring A marks in every History class. I was the Criminal Justice and History tutor for my Sophomore and Junior years at MacMurray. I also graduated with a 3.5 GPA overall.
I enjoying helping people and especially children. I believe in the current society we live in today, it is essential for children to gain a good education and have role models to look up too. I don't believe in giving a student the answers to their questions. Rather, I think it is important to help them find the answers themselves--understanding the process will enable them to perform on their own. For example, rather than editing a student's paper, I will go through it line by line and have them help me find the errors.
I have a very strong background in writing. My experience includes my graduate research and thesis, news writing for a tv station, in addition to 6 years of writing for academia. I spent a semester in Pau, France and can tutor beginning to intermediate level students. I graduated with a 3.9 GPA in high school, college and graduate school.
