I am applying to be a tutor for your child because of my profession. As a teacher, I value the development of the whole student in order for them to excel academically as well as socially. My teaching style exemplifies this by reinforcing a constructivist teaching philosophy in the classroom. I very much enjoy working with children. I enjoy that as i teach them they are teaching me as well. Each individual child learns in their own different way not like that of any other. In my experience with special needs my most knowledge came from just watching their reaction to the curriculum. Each subject had different reactions the facial expression and their attention span to each subject. These very tools gave me the fuel to fire their education.

I graduated from Mansfield University with a BS degree in Elementary Education with honors. I taught a temporary position in third grade (all subject areas), then was asked by the school superintendent to substitute teach in Junior and Senior High School, and Special Education classes, which I did for four more years before I had to move out-of-state for my ex-husband's job. I just spent the last 15 years working for the NYS Dept. of Corrections in many areas.
