I received my bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I then moved to the University of Kansas where I completed a masters in Biochemistry and Biophysics. During this time I was a graduate teaching assistant for two years. I taught science labs including biochemistry I lab (2 semesters), biochemistry II lab (1 semester), and physiology lab (2 semesters). I also assisted in teaching biochemistry lecture. Let's face it; most students do not want to be in a math class. As a teacher, it is my job to present the material in a way that will make students not want to tar and feather me out of boredom while simultaneously communicating the abstract ideas as clearly as possible. However I like puns, and math is filled with wonderful pun making material (like: how to deal with radicals using our rational powers and get to the root of the problem).
