A Little Bit About Me...

As a new graduate, I learned the most updated software and hardware compatible with the growth of IT industries. During the school year, I acquired a strong knowledge base through my course work and extensive experience at my jobs. Since January 2005, I worked at Bellevue Community College Bookstore and then at Minnesota State University in the bookstore as well as the IT department. During that time, I developed fundamental computer and managerial skills. I was responsible for monitoring the computers in the labs and assisting student and faculty in using computer hardware and software. I prefer to use the Socratic method when teaching. It allows me to interact with my students, giving them autonomy and a sense of worth. I am sensible to their ideas -no matter how far fetched they may be at times- and always supportive in their approaches. Also, I do not hesitate to incorporate technology in the classroom, as this medium has become a very popular and powerful instrument of teaching and learning over the years when properly applied. It is certainly true that, often, a picture is worth a thousand words. In summary, I would like to think that I am more of a facilitator to my students than anything else.
