A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored before but of course I wasn't paid for it because it was at my old elementary school. I helped children from ages 8-13 which I was only 11 or 12 at the time. It is extremely rewarding to watch a child when that " i get moment" happens and their face lights up with pride, happiness and a sense of accomplishment.
Try to customize to students intrest in order to keeep attention and make as entertaining as possible. Every child sees things from different eyes. I just teach them how to look. After graduating from MTSU, I went to Prague, Czech Republic to train and work as a teacher of English as a foreign language. I secured a position at Bell School International. Here I taught mostly adult students but I also had a few high school classes. I found it was more satisfying teaching the younger students and so I looked for work at the elementary level. At Horackova Elementary, I taught 6th to 9th grade English. I had a great rapport with all the students and enjoyed planning for the array of levels and age groups. A Little Bit About Me...

While earning my MA in English, I spent two years tutoring students in English and training/mentoring other tutors. For the last two years, I have been designing and delivering trianing curriculum. I have plans to return to Middle Tennessee State University in January 2012 to earn my PhD in Math and Science Education.
I love helping people, particularly children, reach their full potential by becoming life-long learners.
