Chemical Engineering is one of my top subjects!

I find out what exactly the student is lacking in the subject by asking a few basic questions on the topic and make a judgement of the student's understanding on the topic and then proceed forward. I normally explain the concepts in diagrams so that it makes it easier for the student to visualize the problem and give the student plenty of practice problems for him/her to work on to make their understanding better
I have taught over 20 students during my undergraduate and graduate study. Most of the students that I have taught are engineering students who need help with the basic understanding of concepts and visualizing problems. The subjects that I normally teach are Chemical Engineering subjects, Engineering Physics, Chemistry and Basic Math classes. I have been an "instructor"-teacher for over 15 years. I teach math, economics, finance, business, and management for several colleges. I have been a Boy Scoutmaster and merit bade counselor and have worked with youth for over 15 years. I have always been given very high marks as an instructor with many comments on my positive energy and help for students. I have an applied mathematics minor so I would be able to teach algebra, geometry, trig, and introductory calculus.
I am a question-answer type of teacher. I like to demonstrate, have them do, answer questions, clear up ambiguities, and then test or at least check to insure learning and understanding. Perhaps stemming from my time as the owner of a successful construction company, I've found that I learn best when I'm provided mental imagery, which often means the employment of analogies and metaphors. When I begin the program it was really sad to see someone struggling over simple arithmetic problems, I was glad to help then.
