A Little Bit About Me...

I was challenged to pursue brilliance and excellence throughout my undergraduate education. I received two bachelor degrees from Indiana Wesleyan University: a BS in Illustration and a BS in Writing. I worked for two years in Indiana Wesleyan University's Writing Center as a tutor, mentoring undergraduate students, as well as with those in the Adult Learning Program, ESL students, and students with disabilities. I am proficient in English grammar and English writing formats. For the last four years, I have also worked as an independent art instructor for over 60 students, exploring varied 2D media. I am competent and passionate in both of my fields.

As a graduate of Purdue University's School of Liberal Arts, I have been provided with a well-rounded education consisting of a variety of subjects. My degree is in Psychology, with minors in English and Religious Studies. Since graduating from Purdue in 2004, I have worked in social work, child care, and education. Having two wonderful elementary teachers, I was inspired to become a teacher. I graduated in 1988 with an Elementary Education degree. I began my career as a teacher's aide but soon decided to be a stay-at-home mom to my two children. In 1994, I began to home teach my three children. I graduated my youngest in 2008. In 2004, I substitute taught for two local school districts. In spring 2008 I renewed my teaching license. I received my first teaching job at a Christian school in Indianapolis where I taught first grade. The school downsized so I resigned allowing the tenured teachers to keep their jobs. (I was the last hired, therefore would have been the first to go). Since that time, I have been a substitute teacher and a tutor.
