New college graduate with teaching experience

I have 1.5 years of volunteer experience in teaching adult literacy. In this experience I have taught the alphabet, study/homework skills, basic consonant and vowel sounds, rules to the English language, and reading and writing. My sessions were one hour long, twice a week at the central library system.
I have experience in one-on-one teaching, but feel comfortable with no more than five students at a time.

A Little Bit About Me...

Everyone's teaching style is an accumulation of the teachers they have met. My favorite teachers were tough, they pushed me to do my best, and encouraged me to draft, edit, and to have high expectations for myself. Their goals were realistic, and relevant. As teacher, I want to give each student an advantage, over other students. I believe that writing and reading may be the most important thing a child can learn, but more importantly love and continue to do throughout their life. I am patient, flexible, and motivated. I also worked in the Camden County school system as a substitute teacher and secretary. At Mercer University, I earned my BA in Communications and Theater Arts, and an English minor.
