A Little Bit About Me...

I am a patient, friendly, and fun individual. Like I tell my own children, I believe that teaching and learning is a two-way street. It's important for teachers to engage students, to help them discover, to guide them in their learning. There's a good deal of back-and-forth initially to determine a good learning program, and it takes constant evaluation to make sure it works. I encourage students to ask questions and speak up when they do not understand. It can make all the difference in a learning environment, but it's the kind of difference I seek to achieve.

Graduating with a 3.4 GPA in Mass Communications, I have always been creative in both design and writing. I have earned a dual BS in Mass Communications with the emaphasis being in both Public Relations and Journalism. I also have a minor in Spanish, a language in which I am fluent. I have excelled at English since highschool and have written many articles, essays, and website content. Most of my tutoring has been in Spanish, although I would like to branch out into writing/grammar as well.
My teaching styles vary depending on the student. I had one student who was an adult, moving to Ecuador for 2 years to work. I taught him the basics using methods such as flash cards, workbooks, and homework assignments. We met 3x a week for 3 months.
