A Little Bit About Me...

I am a naturally curious person who has always loved words, and spends a good deal of time reading and writing. Throughout my educational career, I have gained experience in reading, analyzing, and writing about various literary works; I enjoy debating the meaning of any written work, and writing about nearly any subject. I love to introduce new friends to my favorite authors and writing styles, and appreciate the chance to learn from other people in regards to the things that interest them!
Teaching children of any age is something that I truly enjoy, particularly learning about each child and their interests and manner of learning. I graduated from the University of Maine "with distinction" and as a memeber of the Kappa Delta Pi National Honor Society. My teaching experience began with the Upward Bound Program where I taught Language Arts and provided in-home tutoring in a diversity of subjects. I then worked for the Penobscot Job Corps Program, a program designed to provide vocational training to “culturally and economically disadvantaged youth." During my 23 years there I held a variety of direct service and administrative positions including teaching the following classes: World of Work, Intergroup Relations, Exit Readiness, Leadership I and II, and workshops of job preparedness.
