My background in Atmospheric Sciences gives me a good base in science and math. I feel my skills will allow me to tutor with both science and math classes, including Calculus I and II classes. I have spent over a year at Project for Pride for Learning in Minneapolis tutoring low income people on basic and moderate computer skills and job searching advice when I was an volunteer there from May 2008 to July 2009.
I have a positive approach to teaching. I am very patient when I go through the lessons and go back and review any older material if it is needed in order to grasp the current lesson of the day. I work hard to make the content stick and I always enjoy to see that light of realization in their eyes when they grasp the concept I am teaching them.

I have been teaching for over twenty years, primarily Middle School Language Arts. I have also taught Head Start, fourth grade, third through eighth grade science, and kindergarten through eighth grade music. I earned my Master’s degree in Classroom Education with an emphasis in MS Language Arts. Desiring to help as many students as possible, I continued taking classes toward a Reading Specialist’s degree. I was unable to complete the last class, a practicum course, because we moved out of state. After I received my degree in Elementary Education, I was a substitute teacher in IA for one year. I then worked, taught and advised at a small private college in Iowa. I have also owned and operated a daycare in my home for over three years. Currently have have spent the past two years as a substitute teacher for the Buffalo, MN school district. This is a job I love for the simple fact that I have variety everyday. It is also a great way to stay up to date on all subject matter. I am also in the process of earning my Master's Degree in Education.
