Business is one of my top subjects!

I have tutored many in accounting at Ohio State and Franklin University. I try to make the student understand the underlying accounting principles that are involved in their problems. To train them in ways to cross check and verify their answers. I try to get the student to verbalize what they have learned. I firmly believe that if they can explain it logically to me,they understand.If not, more work is necessary. In addition, the ability to communicate is critical in the accounting field. I train them to enter the world of public accounting or business with confidence and teach them what to expect. Accounting is the language of business but they must learn how to speak it.

My style depends on what is needed. If a student is self-discplined and stays on task, then I will be relaxed and work with them. If a student is not and needs motivated, then I will more demanding on them.
I've worked in accounting for over 30 years. My experience includes General and Cost Accounting as well as being a Controller for both manufacturing and services companies. Besides my accounting background, I worked with several start-ups companies helping them develop markets, operating procedures and a number of other organizational needs.
