As a former military child, I have learned to adapt very quickly to any situation and believe every experience is a learning one. I have worked with both military and non-military with my duties in some jobs included helping people with software and computer skills. My undergraduate degree in Mass Communications strengthened my ability to communicate effectively and sparked further interest in education. As the school I taught at was private, the students were very competitive. I found my lectures and class activities reached 90% of the students. The remaining 10% were the students I especially loved to instruct. These students had difficulty learning the subject in a traditional fashion, so I was forced to explain the subject from a different angle. The individual attention I gave students before and after class proved to be invaluable.

I earned Glenn County Teacher of the Year in 1998 and Tehama County Teacher of the Year in 2007. I was also named Glenn County Teacher of the Week for Channel 7 News in 1999.
