As a student at Eastern Illinois University (EIU) I majored in Accounting and minored in Chemistry and Pre-medicine. This path provided me with a well rounded education, which required me to take many courses in Chemistry, Physics, Math, Biological Sciences, Accounting, Tax, etc. As a student at EIU I was a Lord scholar graduating Summa Cum Laude with an accumulated GPA of 3.94/4.00. When I completed my masters degree my family and I moved to the Saint Louis area where I worked as a CPA and taught accounting and individual income tax at Southwestern Illinois College and Saint Louis University. I received my Early Childhood Degree from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL. I started teaching thereafter. I have taught young children for 4 1/2 years. In addition to teaching I tutored children after school for Title I Reading/Math through Springfield School District. I tutored 4 days a week Monday-Thursday for 1 hour. Right now I am planning on going back to school to get my special ed endorsement and eventually my Master's Degree in Special Ed. I would also love to get a degree in Social Work.
