I am currently involved in the public school system as a Literacy Tutor for grades k-3. I have earned a BA in Journalism and English and have decided to continue on to pursue my Masters degree in Education. I have been trained in specific reading strategies that can help improve fluency, phonemic awareness, and phonics; as well as vocabulary and text comprehension.
I love working with children. I believe they all have the potential to be great at whatever they choose – sometimes they just need that extra hand- and that is what I can offer. I am patient, easy going, kind and encourage laughter. My goal is to engage children in the things they are naturally interested in and to make learning fun.

As a current tutor of the Rochester Public School system in Minnesota, I understand and work with students in K-12 grades. Specifically, I enhance the understanding of students in the subjects of Reading/English. I also tutor adult learners or college students in English proficiency, Mathematics (College Algebra & Statistics), and the Sciences (Nursing, Biology, Anatomy/Physiology; & all Health Sciences. My tutoring experiences include 5 years of tutoring at the K-12 and college level with an expertise in Reading/English proficiency and the Sciences. My work experiences include Rochester Public Schools and the Rochester Public Library.
