I was in demand, as even fellow tutors would seek my help. I was also requested by my physics professor to tutor physics in the Hard Math Cafe on campus. I believe that most subjects are not difficult to master. Most problems come from "under learning" the subject. Repetition may work for some subjects, but with math the student needs to understand WHY a process works. Once this is learned, the rest comes rather easily. When the student takes for granted a way to solve a problem, they are lost when the problem is presented in a different way. But, if the student understands the WHY, the presentation of the problem does not matter.
