I have been performing since the age of six. My career on stage began in dance. Eventually, I fell in love with acting and I was hooked! I have performed in numerous stage plays and student films. My comments on tutoring Drama : To improve classroom presentation I studied drama. Spread over ten+ years I had more roles than most theater majors, including several lead roles, title roles, and some theatrical awards.

I taught university chemistry for many years, especially the math-heavy courses. After retirement, a friend asked if I would assist a home-schooling family in the sciences. I embraced the occasion, and increased my clientele substantially by word of mouth. Since then people have been seeking me out. Now I am ready to make a second career at something that I love - watching and helping young minds develop.
I use the heuristic style - teach a little; now you try it! The student learns best what they learn from within. At my English boarding school, that is the way we were taught, and it worked. Also, I show them different study methods to see what works for them. I have read widely on psychology. I have always valued education. I can remember comparing grades and discussing what we learned in class as early as 2nd grade. We had a healthy competitive spirit that helped us grown into productive adults. I first began tutoring in an afterschool program in 1995. I have always loved assisting students with learning. When I began my real estate career, I worked primarily with first time home buyers, whom I educated constantly. I believe all children can learn, but that all children learn differently. Having taught special education, I had a range of grade levels in my class. Very often the students would be spread out over three grade levels. Because of this, I am extremely good at tailoring my instruction to different levels and learning types. I graduated with a double major from Fairfield University where I was involved with volunteer groups that tutored middle school aged children from surrounding areas.
