German is one of my top subjects!

My relationship with the German language started while I was in diapers and has only grown since. Evidence? My first word was "Licht" (light), I first called airplanes "Flieger" (small airplane) and I used to wag my pointer finger and warn those approaching the end of our driveway, "No, no Strasse!" I enjoy seeing the "A ha" moment that students get when a concept becomes clear to them. I truly enjoy breaking down complicated concepts to students. I use a lot of real world examples that they can relate to, rather than abstract problems. I use a lot of repetition, as I think that the more you repeat a concept, the more one will familiarize oneself with it. Also, I redirect questions back to the student that asked the question (or other students). This helps them think through the question and methodically arrive at an answer, without my intervention.
