My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : 17 years of experience in elementary schools. I have done extensive research on the most commonly used vocabulary used in current assessments.

I have taught in a first and second grade classroom for ten years, and served as a Reading Specialist for k-5 for seven. I have discovered that the most successful way to teach a child how to read is gaining their interest and full attention, while observing what learning style is best for each individual child. While teaching I use an assortment of manipulatives, repetitive phonics instruction, and books! Whatever works for your child, works for me! My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : An expanded vocabulary for both written and spoken communication is vitally important and a sign of a well educated person.

My teaching style is very flexible depending on the student. I select programs which best fits the student, rather than forcing a student into a specific program that I prefer. My expectations are high for each student. When the expectations are set high, students tend to reach to meet these expectations. Thus it "stretches" each child to reach their maximum potential.
