i have my bachelor's degree in mathematics. I also have experience tutoring people who want to get their GED and high school students. I have always loved math, back to elementary school, and I have always done well at it. When I was a Junior high school student, I started an advanced program in mathematics from columbia university. I was in the program throughout my junior high and high school years.

I am easy going, energetic, very passionate (especially when teaching calculus and physics), and engaging. In most cases it takes only a few sessions and students are having fun. I believe that most students can understand mathematics with a proper explanation. For example, the order of operations is usually presented to students without explanation for its existence. My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn. I always try to tutor the basics and establish a plan for problem solving. The children need to know how to attach a problem not how to plug numbers into equations.
While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented.
